Black Cat

I was walking through the village in the moon light
the stars were blue bright in the cold sky.
The place was peaceful like a snow scene
the air was serene in the crisp white,
then voices drifted from a fire glowing house
a holy chanting of my name.

And then a
black cat crossed my path.
Black cat! Black cat!
It was a
black cat across my path.
Black cat! Black cat!
and then it faded like the wind.

Slowly moved up the building on the corner
getting nearer to the focus.
The door was open just a sliver,
felt a shiver as I moved in.
The ring of figures circled didn't even move,
and I smelt something in the air.

And then a
black cat crossed my path.
Black cat! Black cat!
It was a
black cat across my path.
Black cat! Black cat!
and I saw wonder in it's eyes.

Well the symphony was flying like a star fall
around the fire hall cloaked in shadow,
and every hooded witch anointed
athame pointed, the daggers silver.
The vocal rhythm made a chorus of consent
as mystic forces whispered by.

And then a
black cat crossed my path.
Black cat! Black cat!
It was a
black cat across my path.
Black cat! Black cat!
and I saw wonder in it's eyes.
And I saw wonder in it's eyes.
