Titanic

Frost and the salt on my cracked dry lips.
Blanketing life like a solar eclipse.

Flow of the ocean more cold than us dead.
The last of the ship dragged away to the bed.

So here I am to die.
Sinking in an inky eye.
Falling into black night sea
with only strangers watching me.
No way to write a last goodbye.
No love to hear my sigh.

I've never seen dark
as dark as tonight.
The moon is dead
but the stars are white.
Each a Sun in ocean black.
A trillion people looking back.
A trillion faces out of reach.
As distant as a warm warm beach.
