Straw Gold

Thick and crisp, like straw gold
spun from the sun,
in long waves of satin ribbon.
A waterfall of hair,
cascading and dancing.
A river that sang, like she hummed
as she scribbled,
in the seat on the empty train,
as the ice rain of night fell gently outside.
