Seedling (fragment)

Watching her sleep on Sunday.
Skin on the willow trees.
Inside a creaking farm house.
Ice grey seas.

When I am old I'll leave you.
When I am old and strong.
Watching her dream on Sunday
all day long.

Roof is brown and bends like an old friend.
Tiny mosses hug at the folds.

Help me among the patchwork.
Turn up the liquid feed.
Soil running through the fingers
like the seed.

Smell of the doctor's orders.
Skin in the fields of grey.
Sit there and watch me breathing
red sun day.

Sun to say the curtain is closing.
Sacking on the fence in the breeze.
