About this painting
A painting of longing and desire. A huge dead tree, a monolith, desperately holds close a thin stalk of a flower. The pseudo-dandylion is topped with an embryo, the ultimate symbol of self hugging. Yellow shards, once seeds now explode and fall like glass onto the bleak winter landscape.

Technical details
Like most of my ideas, the initial line sketch showed the main details and most of the composition. The colouration remained, and a glance from a bus window at an isolated oak tree in a December field summed up the mood, so he used that.
