About this painting
This is about the anxiety of running out of money, reaching a point where the ground simply falls away and everything becomes unstable and hopeless.
A figure leaps as the ground falls away, a leap with the hope of new solid ground. The floor shows butterflies turning into coins, and coins into butterflies. On the left a violet black butterfly eclipses a sun on a stable horizon, but a sloping one, one of the past. |
