About this painting
Alternatively titled "Two Victorian Time Travellers Discovering Technological Lovelessness In The Year 2791" this painting is about a dystopian future, developed for an exhibition with that theme.

Two robots, chromium giants tower over a desert landscape. One alive, one dead, both emotionless.

In the rocks on the left in brighter colours we see an embracing but now human couple in outdated clothing. The rocks are topped with a vigorous red rose and two Victorian explorers, time travellers that witness the distant scene.

This is the past, or perhaps the present as the greyness to the right (the grey sky is raining) shows the unrequited future. The destroyed city shows disaster there and the pale rose, contrasting with the scarlet one, sags its head. Love is dead.

Technical details
This large painting with its chromium bones and misty New York cityscape took a lot of work to complete. It was painted on 100% polyester canvas, an excellent surface for fine oil painting.
