The Unique Perspective of Being

If we were to be sliced in two vertically, yet, by some miracle, each half could survive, then I'm sure that we would happily believe that each half had its own unique perspective of being; each half gazing at the world through its one eye. If we were sliced in two horizontally, with both halves still alive, I'm sure we'd believe that our top half had this but the bottom half was just a nothing! Such is the way that we value our eyesight over our other senses.
