Change

Things change because there is no benefit to repetition. All things learn. Because all things learn there can be no perfectly cyclical structures. The cost of learning is change, but by learning, we can discover more stable forms of storing and retrieving information. This is progress, as the universe will always evolve systems that store more information more effectively, these will be favoured over systems that do not. It is by this that we can improve.
