About this event
One of a series of experimental art performance nights at music venue Mash Guru, curated and organised by Sabine Kussmaul and Mark Sheeky. The theme of the evening was Presence.
Mark Sheeky opened the night dressed as the Wizard of Now, with a poem about the nature of time to a video and A.I. composed music. The night included several improvised music jams, the first by Becca Smith, Chris Godber, Matt Nin, Sabine Kussmaul and Steven Taylor. A live video link from King's Cross Station in London by Natalie Newsome and her friend Jasmine Drewry, then another jam with Pete Mason and Steven, followed by a time-lapse film by Ian Pounder. Poetry by Claire Bassi and Dorothy Woods featured in the second half, and a violin and guitar jam with Alix Hyde and Rebecca Smith, a slug film by Sabine. In Mark Sheeky's second piece, he read a palindromic poem about the nature of presence vs. infinity while playing synthesizer, recruiting members of the audience to help read. Christopher Magpie joined in for a final music jam. |
