Butterfly

Butterfly away.
Flutter in the sun.
Better run.

Do you know what happiness feels like?
Do you know what loneliness feels like?
You are alone my friend,
it was you at the end.

Greeting every flower
Immune to the world,
not a care.

Do you know that you are one of a kind now?
See that cloud cast a shadow across you.
Delicate yellow wings
are frecked with black.

Call on the spirits of your ancestors.
Recall the history they saw.

Dinoasurs, cave men, Egyptians, Romans, Vikings, Mongolians, knights, witch finders, revolutionaries, steam trains, cars, space ships.

Does it matter if you're one or a million?
Will it matter in a day or in seven?
Does one species matter at all
if you are not a member?
