Watching The Wheels Go By
People blurred below.
A shadow-cast of problems.
Listen to the sound,
a megalith of ancient
wheels and gears
rolling round.
Everybody's rich
but no-one's got the time to
spend or time to wait,
to contemplate the moral
rights and wrongs,
wants and needs,
deeds and reasons why,
but we're here watching the wheels go by.
Hazy like the eyes
that drink forbidden liquor,
yellow cracked and stale
as weeks become a waters
flow to sea,
running free.
Every box the same
but every chocolate different
for people not to choose,
instead they sleep another
night all day,
work and play,
rest and mate then die,
but we're here watching the wheels go by.
