About this painting
The third in a group about Swedish film maker Ingmar Bergman. The painting includes elements of childhood and death, with references to perhaps his most well known film, The Seventh Seal.

The series took many months to conceptualise and complete, with several studies and variations of each work before the final three were chosen. Like The Resurrection Sonata, these three paintings were created for feeling, more like movements in a musical work than a traditional triptych (which had religious and practical display considerations).
