About this event
One of a series of experimental art performance nights at music venue Mash Guru, curated and organised by Sabine Kussmaul and Mark Sheeky. The theme of the evening was Light.
Mark opened the night with a music piece with ascending scales plus poetry and time-lapse video about light spectra. Helen Kay, Deborah Edgeley, Rory Coward, Alix Hyde, and Becca Smith read poems with a light theme throughout the night. Micheal Chisholm read two stories. Simon Ross read poetry while Sabine Kussmaul improvised music to a slideshow of images relating to light, and Alix Hyde on guitar and Si Oliver on bass later played music to a slideshow by artist Jacki Clark. Si Oliver showed two videos, and we were joined by Daniel Hayden, a systems engineer from the Square Kilometre Array who answered science questions related to light. The night ended with an open jam where Mark Sheeky, Si Oliver and Sabine Kussmaul played to images by Suzanne Woodhouse. |
