She Only Loves Me Twice

She only loves me twice,
twice in a lifetime,
and on the second time
she isn't there.

She's on the edge of darkness
or maybe that's her hair.

Photographs can sometimes change to ghosts of memories.

She only touched me once,
once in the classroom,
and when I looked again
she wasn't there.

She's on the edge of darkness
or maybe that's her hair.

Even though you left me years ago
you left a thorn inside,
to light up like trapped firefly.
Even though your face is now a blur
I recall your name as her,
a marker in the shades of my fractured youth.
Although I only met you once...
I miss you.

(solo building to grand dream angelic ending)

(speech)
Through distant corridors we walk,
on fell hills and lonely moors.
Our only company is isolation,
and remote experience fills our eyes.
Again the sky cries your name.
