The Salt
A grain of salt
that lived on Mars
in a jar
on a shelf
in a bar.
Was humming a tune
about a baboon
near a rock
in a park
by a car.
The peanut (a friend)
tried to pretend
that the salt
knew the tune
(he did not).
So the salt in a jar
on a shelf in a bar
did not stop
and was heard
by a dot.
I'll make you a star
said the dot in the bar
to the salt
on the shelf
with the tune.
So the salt lived in jars
playing all the best bars
with stars
on Mars
and the moon.
