About this painting
The idea was about the consequences of rising sea levels but perhaps the painting has many meanings. It is similar in composition and theme to my painting of Rapa Nui.

A monkey sits on a pole in the ocean. Perhaps this is a representation of mindless humanity, the last remaining creature in a world flooded due to global warming. Perhaps this is about bleakness for the future, or even a dawn and perhaps peace, as water represents emotions psychologically, and here the monkey sits atop the smooth liquid; a paragon of intellect.
