About This Album
Fostered in the extraordinary year of solitude and struggle that was 2020, this album began as an idea about working on something with care and attention in obscurity. Though not as bleak as Camus' philosophy, or directly inspired by it, there is a nod to the work, a comment on the affirmation of life vs. death, too. The tracks are unified musically and thematically, telling a story in images. We move between a windswept hilltop and bleak interiors as we roll our rock along the eternal journey.
A Sisyphean six months in development, The Myth Of Sisyphus is Sheeky's first album to feature live guitars throughout as well as his now usual live piano, keyboards, and vocals. Mark upgraded his studio equipment and software several times during development, and some new audio effects made it into this album. Or course, as with all of Mark's albums, all of the audio effects are unique and self-designed, he does not use commercial plug-ins. |

Technical Details
This album includes different CD and Stream versions. Both formats are different so the music has been optimised for each. Streamed music favours individual tracks that have a definite start and end without long intros. The CD format is better for blending tracks together to form a whole-album, symphonic, listening experience.
The artwork, as well as the musical structure, makes the CD version the definitive version. This physical-only version will not appear on digital platforms. |
