About This Album
Synaesthesia is an electronic concept album. This was Sheeky's first serious attempt at an album sized composition, and was influenced in style and form by Jean-Michel Jarre album works such as Rendezvous and Chronologie.

Its origins date back to the mid-nineties, and music composed on an Ensoniq ESQ-1 synthesizer and recorded on tape. In 1999, a first version was recorded and briefly released by REV Records. This suffered from a lack of sound quality due to technical limitations, so in 2002 this second version of the album was resequenced using the earliest draft of Mark's custom designed software, Noise Station.

In 2015, to prepare for the first iTunes release, a hybrid version using some of the original SY-85 sequences and some re-recorded tracks was made, and finally, in 2020, the entire album was re-recorded for a fourth time to make a definitive version which is closest in spirit to the original 1999 version.
