About this book
In January 2022, artist Mark Sheeky staged an art exhibition in Nantwich Museum, Cheshire, United Kingdom. Neorenaissance was a showcase of oil paintings, and a collection of ekphrastic poems, specially written for the exhibition by contemporary poets. This book contains the artworks and poetry.

Poets from the Stockport Write Out Loud poetry group, WORD Stafford, and poets local to Nantwich in Cheshire, were invited to contribute. Each poet was shown an image of an artwork, without a title or any other information, and invited to write a poem about the work. The result is a showcase of 21st century oil painting and contemporary ekphrastic poetry.

The contributing poets are Linda Cosgriff, Deborah Edgeley, Martin Elder, Carol J Forrester, Jane Harland, Brendan Hawthorne, Ian Henery, Lisa Johnston, Helen Kay, John Lindley, Dorinda MacDowell, Andy Millican, Andy N, and Mark Sheeky. The book also includes images from the 45-minute video projection The Spiral Staircase by Susan Mascarenhas.

Printed in high quality full colour, Neorenaissance is an art book to treasure, and a mark in time of the art and culture of 2022.
