The Once Gods

We strive to be someone;
to 'make it', somewhere, somehow,
to be feel valued and relevant,
important, more than useful.

All dream this,
yet few achieve this,
and in the darkness
we talk to the silent crowd
of once-gods
which are now unprayed to.

To the world they are irrelevant.
They are not important.
They are not valued.
They are not useful.
