Every Man

Every man is aware
that he has no friends,
only people that need him
for some thing
for some job
for some skill.

Every man is aware
that he is looked down on
by the 'I can do that' people
by the 'anyone can do that' people
by the 'who does he think he is' people
until needed
for some thing
for some job
for some skill.

Every man is an island
surrounded by other islands
visited by occasional vessels
of utility, fulfilling orders
or requesting
some thing
some job
some skill.

Most die unnoticed
except by those who miss
their things
their job
their skill.

Some laze on the coconut milk
brought by women.

Some become volcanoes.
