Painting The Gate

Painting the gate to her house.
Painting together.
Doing a good job,
clean and quick.
Smiling in dusk light
and cool dry weather.
Painting her metal gates
that both fit together.

The cat wants to slide
under the gate,
he's taking an interest in all that we do.
Checking each micro part
for uneven paint,
as we love each moment
of painting our gate.
