You Are Far Away

The church is set with roses.
The fire is brown and warm.
The sun tipped fields are greeting the day,
and you are far away.

The snow is in the garden.
The pink skies white, and grey,
and I'm alone in the cold flat wind,
for you are far away.

I remember the hugs that you gave me,
and the smiles in your eyes through the pain.
I remember the dreams of tomorrow,
and the walks in the woods and the rain.
I remember the mist in the twisting road
from your bedroom at the start of the day.
I thought that it led forever away,
but it didn't go on,
because now you are gone.
