Pandemic Years
In February 2020, Britain and the world entered a strange phase of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
I spent much of the year working on music, releasing four albums, updating my game Taskforce, releasing The Intangible Man, and the Chinese translation of 21st Century Surrealism. All paintings in progress were paused, making 2020 the first year since 2004 where I did not paint.
My primary focus was on vocal music; singing and song production. I had recorded a scant few songs when I first started sequencing music, and the album I recorded with Tor James Fualkner, The End And The Beginning, included a few of my vocal performances. I wanted to improve at this skill, and decided to record a lot, to learn by doing.
Many art exhibitions in 2021 were cancelled or distrupted due to Covid-19. I exhibited with Galleria Balmain in London in October 2021, and the shadow of Covid-19 still dominated that city. After a decade on the waiting list, a large solo art exhibition in Nantwich Musuem was pushed back repeatedly, only to be held in January 2022 at a time of national lockdown which resulted in the cancellation of all of the live events.
