Energy Imbalance Of Importing And Exporting Information
In programming I've noticed that it always takes more work to load than save. Exporting information is easy but re-loading it takes care and attention.
I expect that there is some sort of real-world analogy. Anything, just a stone on the floor, could be seen as emitting information, and obviously studying the stone can take a lot of work, but just perceiving the stone at all takes more energy than the stone uses to emit its existence.
However, a carefully developed export of information could take longer and be more complicated than taking in that same information, so perhaps there is equivalence in energy between exporting and importing information.
